August 10, 1980: Backlund forfeits the tag title; the belts are declared vacant.

September 9, 1980: The Samoans (Afa and Sika) beat Tony Garea and Rene Goulet, Allentown, PA.

November 8, 1980: Tony Garea and Rick Martel over the Samoans; Philadelphia, PA.

March 17, 1981: The Moondogs (Rex and King) defeat Garea and Martel; Allentown, PA.

May, 1981: Spot replaces King in the Moondogs.

September 25, 1995: Owen Hart and Yokozuna are given the titles back as Owen Hart had joined the match at In Your House late, and was pinned, however the British Bulldog had been deemed his replacement (and one half of the champions) for the match.

February, 1996: Billy Gunn suffers a neck injury; the titles are forfeited and thus vacated; a tournament is announced.

June, 1997: Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart get into a locker room altercation; Michaels walks out, forfeits his title.

June, 1997: A WWF title tournament is held; the winner to meet Steve Austin and a partner for the championship.

July 14, 1997: "Stone Cold" Steve Austin and Dude Love{1} beat Owen/Bulldog (tourney winners) on Raw; Texas.

September 7, 1997: The titles are forfeited as Steve Austin is medically unfit to defend the titles. A "Fatal Four Way" tag title match will take place this same night at IYH.
